Hey Ladies,

I really enjoyed last week's bookclub meeting. The Fountainhead is my favorite book, so I am really looking forward to reading it for the next meeting.

I was thinking that one of the books we read in the future could be an autobiography. I have been wanting to read Papillon. Or Eleanor Roosevelt's autobiography. Just an idea. Mixing up the reading list.

Also, Natalie and I are admist reading the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series and it is amazing. So, I also suggest those books. They are fast reading and I have the audio books if anyone wants to borrow it.

See you all in September!

The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake

We did it!  After countless classes, finals, and cups of coffee (or green tea), we graduated law school.  We trudged, day after day, subject after subject, to Bar Bri, or Personal Bar Prep, or Bar Passers.  We've gone through all the ink in our pens, all the paper in our printers, all the tissues and tylenol PM in our medicine cabinets.  We gathered up our pride and fears, what little we had left, and sat for that G-d forsaken California Bar Exam for Three.  Whole.  DAYS!

Our lives have been so planned and calculated for the last three years, and now it's time to get back to reality.  And what better way to do so then with a book, good food, and friends.  Our kickoff book club met last Sunday to discuss the Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender.  It was a very interesting book, which had us all guessing if I'd accidentally selected a sci-fi.  You'll have to read it to see what I mean.

At the meeting, we decided Alma will be hosting next month with Ayn Rand.   We also decided to create this blog to keep everyone up to do as well as share other info to get us going on the road back to a normal, well-rounded life.

I'm so glad we decided to form this group, and am very much looking forward to the next meeting.

xoxo
